The previous Guinness world record for the Largest snow cone was a 4,600-pound snow cone make ten years ago by Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort in California.
Bahama Buck owner Blake Buchanan told the Avalanche-Journal that the goal was to shatter the previous Guinness world record, not just just break it.
"If you're going to do something, do it right," he said."Do it once so you don't have to do it again."
About 1,000 customers participated in what Bahama Buck's called its Sno Angel Project Sno Shaving Fundraiser benefiting the Children's Home of Lubbock.
